Thomas was born in 1832. He was the son of John Perkins and Martha Brooks. In 1850, the family was living in Talbot County, Georgia,.[1]
Thomas married Elizabeth Ann Adams. In 1860, they were residing in Stewart County, Georgia.[2]
He was killed in the Battle of Cold Harbor in Virginia in 1862, during the Civil War. He served in Co E of the 31st Georgia Infantry. A cenotaph was erected in the Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin, Stewart County, Georgia[3]
