Lucinda was born about 1816. She is the daughter of William Perkins and Penina Anderson. She married John Lewis Fowler on June 29, 1836 in Pike Alabama. [1] On the 1850 Census the family is living in Union Parish, Louisiana [2] before they moved to Jackson Parish, Louisiana in 1860. [3] Both Lucinda and her husband, Lewis Fowler, are listed as the parents of Jane Emerson (born Oct 2, 1840) on Jane's death certificate dated January 14, 1929 in Giles Tennessee. [4]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Lucinda by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Lucinda:
I believe there is a discrepancy in these records. Lewis Fowler and wife Lucinda are enumerated in the 1850 Census of Union Parish, Louisiana. The children listed on that census are Sarah, William, John, Martha, and Julia. Likewise, there is a John L. Fowler and wife Lucinda enumerated on the 1850 Marshall County, TN census. Their children are listed as: Reuben S., William M., Elizabeth H., Nancy J. (possibly Jane), John M., Mary L., and Joseph L.,
Nancy J. Fowler, daughter of John L. and Lucinda Fowler, married James L. Emerson in Marshall County, TN on July 31, 1859. This couple is enumerated in the 1860 Giles County, TN census with their infant son Leonidas N. Emerson and with Nancy J.'s brother, William M. Fowler. Their immediate neighbors are P.C. Hall and wife, Mary L. (Fowler) with John L. and Lucinda Fowler living next door to the Hall's. The children living in the Fowler household are John M., Joseph H., and Thomas H.
Lewis and "Sinda" Fowler are enumerated in the 1860 Jackson Parish, Louisiana census. The children enumerated in their household are Young J., Julia A., Laura A.A., Dickerson H., Elvira, and Elsa. I believe that these two families - Lewis and Lucinda Fowler (from Alabama and Louisiana) and John L. and Lucinda Fowler (from Tennessee) - have been mistakenly combined. Additional research will be needed to verify this supposition.
