Biography

Charles Robert Perpall was the youngest son of Margaret Bell Perpall and John/Juan Perpall of Nassau, Bahamas. His father died several months after his birth.

Baptized 8 September 1824 at Christ Church. Sponsors: Charles R Nesbitt, Mrs. Jane Christie.

Married Henrietta Jane Fulford in 1847 at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Kirk in presence of Henry Adderley, Copeland Adderley, and Edward Alexander Fulford. The couple had nine known children; the following lived to adulthood: William Alfred, Margaret Ellen, Henrietta Louise, Mary Ann, Georgina Frederica, Charles Robert, and Agnes Beatrice Perpall.

Merchant and shopkeeper on Bay Street, Nassau.

Freemason - member of the Provincial Grand Lodge of the Bahamas under the registry of England.

Recruited crew members for runs into the Confederate States of America by blockade runners.

Charles Perpall died in Nassau, Bahamas 30 April 1883.
