He was married to Helen Cooper Partenheimer on 15 October 1889, by Henry R Percival, of Church of the Evangelists (Protestant Episcopal). He was living at 1316 North 29th Street, Philadelphia, and was a cashier. The wedding was apparently a social event, described as '[o]ne of the prettiest weddings that have taken place down town this season'. They spent their honeymoon in Baltimore, Washington, etc., and returned by 1 November, still at 1316 North 29th Street. [4] [5] They had two children:

'One of the prettiest weddings that have taken place down town this season was that of Alfred F. Perpignan to Miss Helen Cooper Partenheimer, at 7 o'clock last evening, in the P. E. Church of the Evangelist, on Catharine street, below Eighth. The groom is the son of William H. Perpignan, the well known Chestnut street merchant, and the bride is the member of a family well known in society circles. The church was thronged.
'The ceremony was performed by Rev. Henry Percival, the rector. The bride was given away by her father, Edwin Partenheimer. Miss Emma L. Camp was maid of honor, and Gedney King was best man. The ushers were George M. Shermer, Forrest M. Anderson, Albert Bird and William Y. C. Anderson. The bride wore white faille Francaise and carried a bridal bouquet. After the ceremony the lively peals of Mendelssohn's "Wedding March" filled the church, and the party proceeded to the residence of the bride's parents, No. 747 South Ninth street, where a reception took place. The wedding presents completely filled one large room, and were costly and beautiful.
'Among those who tendered their congratulations to the handsome couple were [names omitted]
'Amid a shower of rice and old shoes the couple drove off to Broad Street Station, where they took a train for the South. They will spend their honeymoon in Baltimore, Washington and other cities, and will be "at home" after November 1, at 1316 North Twenty-ninth street.'
