Biography

J Campbell Perpignan was born on 13 July 1899, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, apparently to Alfred F Perpignan and Helen Cooper Partenheimer. [1] [2] However, he is not living with them in the 1900 or 1910 censuses, both of which claim that Helen had no living children. [3] [4]

He finished four years of high school. [5]

On 5 September 1918, he registered for the draft. He was living at 421 West Upsal Street, Germantown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a student. He was medium height, medium build, and had gray eyes, and brown hair. [1]

In 1920, 1930, and 1940, he was living at 421 Upsal Street, Philadelphia, with his parents (and sometimes others). He was an insurance broker--in 1940, a casualty insurance broker. [6] [7] [5]

On 16 February 1942, he registered for the draft. He listed his mother as the person to contact. He was self-employed, working at the Commercial Trust Building, at 15th and Penn Square, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was 5'10-1/2" tall, weighed 160 pounds, and had gray eyes, brown hair, and a light complexion. [2]

On 23 April 1971, he died, at Newton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He lived at 134 Middlesex Road, in Chestnut Hill. A memorial service was held at All Saints' Episcopal Church, in Brookline, on Satursday 8 May. [8] [9] [10]
