- He married firstly Elizabeth Ann Bauer in 1893. Elizabet Ann died 44 on the 3rd of February 1913 and was buried on the 5th of Feburary in Purewa Cemetery, Auckland N.Z.
- He married secondly Agnes Louisa Robinson(? c.1876-1944))
- He died aged 68 on the 1 Aug 1927 and was buried in the Purewa Cemetery, Auckland, NZ.
