Biography

Worthy Perry was born in Appalachia, in Ohio.
Worthy Perry was an Ohioan.

Worthy PERRY was born between 1838 and 1841 in Ohio. He died after 1920 and probably in California. He was last listed in 1920 in the household of his son in law, Ora Lincoln CONANT in Huntington Park, Los Angeles County, California.[1] He was the son of Julius Perry and Clarissa BLANCHARD.[2], [3]

Bio from History of Bay County, Michigan, 1883:

Worthy Perry was born in Ashtabula County, Ohio, 1838. Remained at birth-place until 1862, when he enlisted in the Union army, Company I, 105th Ohio Infantry, and served to the close of the war. Was in various engagements with the enemy, including the Battle of Perryville, Ky., in which he received a gunshot wound, which disabled him for about two months in hospital; then return to his regiment, and, unlike many others, has never applied for a pension, to help swell the millions for the people to pay. After the close of the war, Mr. Perry came to the township of Williams and bought a farm in Section Three and has since bought the north half of the southeast corner of same section, making a farm of 100 acres, of which 60 acres are under improvement: good substantial dwelling, commodious barns, fine orchard, the product of hard labor and economy. Married in 1865, Miss Carrie Anderson, of Wisconsin. Has had three children, two daughters, and one son, only me daughter of whom is living. Lost his first wife, March 1872, and in October of the same year married Miss Delia Milican, of Wisconsin. Mr. Perry is one of the substantial men of the township.

YOUNGSTERS OF 60 AND MORE FLOCK TOWARD ALTAR
When George W. Studley, 94 years old, walked into the marriage license office and requested "Cupid" Sparks for a license to wed Mrs. Mary A. Gilbert, he started a stampede of "youngsters" past 60 for the same destination. As a consequence eight couples are today on their honeymoon and "Cupid" Sparks is blessing Mr. Studley for having given the matrimonial game a great stimulus.
"Shucks!" said Worthy Perry, 75 years old, walking into the license bureau the day after Mr Studley took the happy leap, "if men of 94 take a chance I guess a youngster like me should worry." Without further prologue, Mr. Perry took out a license to marry Mary Bradley Patrick, who is 62.
