• Notes from my mother: "For much of the long past history, I have relied on the book written and compiled by Jim Farrior, Joseph O. Thompson and Annie Magruder Thompson—A Genealogy. James Spurlick Farrrior III is the son of Ruth Thompson Farrior who is the daughter of Joseph Oswalt Thompson, brother of my great grandfather, William Watson Thompson. Jim Farrior’s great grandmother, Mary Ann Perry (Mrs. William Reardon Magruder) and my great great grandmother, Louisa Perry (Mrs. John Glenn Motley) were sisters. Mr. Farrior and I share family history through these sisters and their daughters, Annie Zuleika Magruder (Mrs. Joseph O. Thompson) and Sallie Hill Motley (Mrs. William Watson Thompson) who married brothers. I have noted referrences to Mr. Farrior’s book throughout my work."
