Anna Cajsa Persdotter was born at Lindlöt in Frösunda in 1803 as the youngest daughter of the crofter Per Danielsson and his wife Rachel Korthou.[1] Her mother was descended from Walloons - smiths immigrated around 1635. Her father was descended from German smiths, immigrated at about the same time. On both sides, their lines had met the misfortune of a father several generations back who died too young to pass on his craft to a son.
Anna Cajsa lived with her widowed mother until 1818, when she took hire as ungpiga at Slumsta in Orkesta. Her brother Jan was serving there at the same time.[2] 1819 to 1829 she served at Åttesta in Frösunda.[3][4] In 1829 she joined her eldest sister, Lisa and her brother-in-law at Fogelsunda.[5]
On November 13, 1831 Anna Cajsa Persdotter married the young widowed farm hand, Olof Persson.[6] They lived as crofters at Nybygget in Orkesta until 1856.[7][8] They had three sons: Per, born in 1832, Johan Gustav, born in 1838 and Carl, born in 1843.
In 1856 Olof and Anna Cajsa became self-owned farmers at Mälhamra in Närtuna. By then Per had already moved to Stockholm. Carl moved out in 1860[9] while Johan Gustav remained at Mälhamra, eventually taking over the farm.
Anna Cajsa Persdotter passed away in Närtuna in 1866.[10]
