Occupation

Olof was a sheriff and a tax sheriff for the Bergslag in Vånga as well as a juryman.

The Ransom for Älvsborg Castle

In 1571 Olof was living at Sunkerstad and had to pay extra taxes which the state needed in order to be able to pay the ransom the Danish demanded for Älvsborg Castle. Olof payed 50 lod silver, which is about 650 grams of silver.

An Important Visitor

In 1580 Wellam De Wijk and his entourage stayed with Olof Persson at his home in Boberg. Wellam De Wijk was a dutch man who during the years 1580-1597 was given the privilege to run the Ironworks in Finspång by the king.[1]

Estates

The taxable estate of Boberg belonged to Olof, where he lived in 1580, and was inherited by his son Påvel Olofsson. He also owned two taxable estates in the village of Boberg that was inherited by his sons Peder and Carl.

Death

In 1589 Olof's wife Ramborg is called a widow so he must have died before this.
