Martha (Petch) Mincher was born in Yorkshire, England.
Martha was born in Gildersome (Gildersome is a village and civil parish in the City of Leeds metropolitan borough), on September 10, 1884. She was the oldest of six (possibly seven) children of Joseph Petch, and Hannah Hargate. She was baptized on December 10, 1884, at the Non-Conformist parish in Batley, Yorkshire. It appears Martha remained with her family until her marriage in 1903.
Martha married Joseph Mincher on March 28, 1903, in Wakefield, Yorkshire, at All Saints Church. Martha listed her age as twenty, Joseph as twenty one, and his occupation as "Mariner". The couple would have at least three children between 1904 and 1910, all births registered in Wakefield. Martha passed away in 1951. Her death was registered in the fourth quarter in Wakefield. She was sixty seven.
