Jesse Simon Peter was born on 21 September 1872 at Bryant, Graham County, Kansas to his parents Simon J Peter and Mary Anne Graham. He married Grace Maud Smith, daughter of John Richard Smith and Eugenia Campbell Craig on 7 September 1897 at Winfield, Cowley County, Kansas, and they had the following children: Maurine Peter, Kenneth Craig Peter, and Maurice Lyle Peter. He died on 24 February 1950 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma. He is buried at Rose Hill Burial Park, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma[1].
