Katherine was born in 1899. Her parents were Ira Peters and Lucy Belle Martin.

She appears as "Katie G" in the 1900 US Census, in Bush, Laurel Co., KY, in the household of her father along with her mother and four sisters. She is described as an eight month old, white female.

She appears in the 1940 US Census, in Lynch, Harlan Co., KY, in the household of her husband along with their six children. She is described as a married, 40 year old, white female, with four years of high school education.

She passed away in 1999, and is buried in the D.L. Creech Cemetery, Cumberland, Harlan County, Kentucky.
