Biography

US Congressman. Born in Ellsworth, Maine, on October 9, 1822 to Andrew Peters and Sally Jordan. He attended Gorham Academy, Yale College (grad. 1842) and Harvard Law School (1843–44). He was admitted to the bar in 1844. His first wife was Mary Ann Hathaway whom he married on 01 Sep 1846 in Bangor, Penobscot, Maine.[1] He married his second wife, Fannie E. Roberts (1838 - January 20, 1916) on 23 Sep 1857 in Bangor, Penobscot, Maine.[2][3][4] He represented Bangor in the Maine State Senate in 1862 and 1863, and then the Maine House of Representatives in 1864. He was Attorney General of Maine 1864-1866. He in died Bangor, Maine on April 2, 1904 is buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, USA, Plot: ED Lot 60[5]
