Biography

Hiram Wallace Peterson was born in 1854 in Ameliasburgh Township, Prince Edward County, Canada West. In 1861 and 1871 he was with his parents in Huntingdon Township, Hastings County. In 1879 he married Marie Antoinette Beatty in Brighton Township. In 1881 they were in Colborne, Cramahe Township, Northumberland County. They had a short-lived son, and Marie Antoinette also died. In 1883 Hiram Wallace married Frances Ann "Fanny" Wilce in Cramahe Township. They farmed in Colborne. They had four children. In 1921 their deceased daughter Minnie's three children were with them. In 1935 and 1940 Hiram Wallace was in Colborne, retired. He died in 1941 and was buried in Salem Cemetery, Cramahe Township.

Footnote

Hiram Wallace vacillated between his two given names. In 1940 he was "Wallace" and his gravemarker has H. Wallace Peterson.
