Hans Pedersen was born in Denmark

Hans Pedersen was born on July 7, 1820 in Nørre Broby parish, Sallinge, Svendborg, Denmark. His parents were Peder Hansen and Maren Nielsdatter.[1]

He married Maren Frandsdatter on November 22, 1846 in Søllinge parish, Vindinge, Svendborg, Denmark.[2][3] They had at least two children.

  1. Maren Hansdatter was born 1849 in Nørre Broby parish and died in 1851.[4][5]
  2. Frands Peter (Hansen) Peterson) was born 1851 in Hemmeshøj parish, Slagelse, Sorø.[6][7][8]

In 1855 and 1860 he was living with his wife and only child in Gierslev parish, Løve, Holbaek, Denmark.

He became a prosperous architect in Denmark.

On May 15, 1863, when he was forty-two years old, Hans died aboard the ship John J Boyd while immigrating from Denmark to the United States. He was buried at sea in the Atlantic Ocean. His wife and son settled in the Utah Territory without him.[9]
