Beverly Ruth Peterson was born on April 3, 1917 in Salina, Sevier County, Utah, United States. Her father was Frands Peter Peterson Jr. whose parents emigrated from Denmark to Salina. Her mother was Ruth Elizabeth Adams; her ancestors came from Ireland, Scotland, and the British colonies in North America.
In 1940 she lived in Salina with her parents, two siblings, and her husband, Charles Waters from Alabama.
Ruth died on January 26, 1992 at an age of seventy-four in Gunnison, Sanpete County, Utah. She is buried in the Koosharem Cemetery in Koosharem, Sevier County, Utah.[7][8]
