Biography
Petter (Pehr) Sundstrom was born in Sweden on October 15, 1824.

He is the son of Petter Jonasson and Maria Jansdotter. He was born in Yngshyttan, Färnebo parish in Värmland after his family moved there in 1823.

The family moved to Grythyttan Parish in Örebro in 1826.
His occupation was listed as miller.
He married Anna Stina Andersdotter in Hällefors parish in 1852
[3] and continued living there

until the family moved to Lindesberg Parish in the county of Örebro in 1877.

The family emigrated to North America in 1880
[13] from Lindesberg and arrived in Boston.
Petter and Anna were 55 and 50 years of age respectively when they emigrated from Sweden. Upon their arrival in the US, they settled in Chicago but moved to Wisconsin about 1884 and lived on a farm outside of Grantsburg.

They returned to Chicago after sometime after 1905, having spent over 20 years in Grantsburg.
Petter and Anna had eight children; seven children emigrated to America. They were Charles, Edward, August, John, Hilda, Vilma and Johanna. Amanda stayed in Sweden with her family.
Several of the children worked as carpenters for the Pullman Coach Company in Chicago.
Peter passed away in Chicago, Illinois on September 6, 1909.

He is buried next to his wife Anna in Graceland Cemetery in Chicago, lot 4329.
