Robert Earl Pettie of Redmond died Jan. 9 in Redmond. He was 89. Robert was born august 10, 1919, in Port Angles, Washington to Edward Pettie and Nina Slater. He married Delores "Pat" Pettie on Feb. 1, 1958 in Oregon City. Robert worked in the mill industry from Washington to California and retired from Northside Lumber in Philomath. He also worked for Benton Country corrections until his final retirement in 1996. He wasa faithful Jehovah's Witness from 1961 until his passing. He moved from Philomath in 1997 to Tonasket, Washington until May 2008 when he moved to Redmond to be with family. He also served in World War II. He is survived by spouse Delores "Pat" Pettie; son Aaron Pettie; daughter Pamela Eberle; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Dale Pettie, in June 1980; daughter Tara Lynn Pettie in April 1981, father, Edward B. Pettie and mother, Nina Slater; five brothers and three sisters. Visitation was on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Autumn Funerals in Redmond. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Mount Union Cemetery in Philomath. Memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Redmond. David Henderson will officiate.
