Biography
Annie Elizabeth Pettigrew was born September 28, 1847 in Nova Scotia to Jeremiah Pettigrew and Mary Spence.
Annie married Jessie Henwood and as a farming family they made their home in Westbrook, Cumberland County.
Obituary Parrsboro Record Tuesday, April 21, 1931:
"There passed away Sunday evening, April 12, Annie, widow of Jessie Henwood (who predeceased her by twenty years) at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Abner Henwood, Pettigrew Settlement, at the advanced age of 84 years. The deceased had only been ill a short time with the flu, and a week ago she had a stroke. Since the death of her husband, she has made her home with different members of her family. Deceased is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Abner Henwood, Pettigrew Settlement; Mrs. John Vautier, Niagra Falls, Ontario; Mrs. David Rolef, Tennycape; Mrs. James Rolfe, Southampton; Mrs. Fred Rector, Springhill; and two sons James and Jessie of Westbrook. The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon, and was conducted by Rev. Bruce Carew of the United Church at Southampton, with internment being at Westbrook."
