On the 1880 census, Augusta Scully, a widow, was living in Gower, Cedar, Iowa, with her mother, Eliza Gaskel Scully, her stepfather, Thomas Scully, and her two sons, Thomas (age 7) and Tell (age 5). Also in the household were her stepbrothers, William, Edward, and Emmet.[1]
Augusta Pettit, the daughter of A. Pettit and Eliza Gaskel, was born about 1855. On 14 September 1887 she married A. E. Westenhaven in Cedar County Iowa.[2]
