Y DNA

  • William Walker Pettus IV has completed a Y(111). Pettus-324's FTDNA kit #329341 intercepts both Tom R. Pettus, FTDNA kit #793447 and Robert Pettus FTDNA kit #369442 at John Pettus, Sr. (1736-1799). In view of oral history, and secondary source [2] above, we believe this secures the separate Pettus lines to Pettus-60 married to Winston-714, which we have set as DNA confirmed.
  • Regarding other Y(111) intercepts: Tom R. Pettus FTDNA kit #793447 and [[Pettus-315]|Robert Pettus] FTDNA kit #369442 intercept at Richard Emerson Pettus which we have set as DNA confirmed for both descendants.

Pettus-236 and Pettus-60 appear to represent the same person because: Same dates of birth and death, and same places. Both married to woman named Susannah Winston. These two profiles are duplicates and must be merged according to WikiTree policy of only one profile per person.

I have Amey spelled as Amy. otherwise, children agree for John Pettus and Susannah Winston. However base on William Walker Pettus IV "Thomas Petyous of Norwich, England and His Pettus Descendants in England and Virginia" (Volumes 1 & 2) the I'm not on the same page with the Brothers and Sisters of this Pettus-60

Pettus-69 and Pettus-60 appear to represent the same person because: Unless anyone has more sources regarding this John Pettus, it appears that this family line is duplicated on WikiTree.
