Nikolaus Pevsner was born in Germany circa 1902.

Nikolaus left Germany after the Nazi takeover . [1]

His most celebrated accomplishment was the publishing of a 46 volume book, a study of English architecture, "The Buildings of England," which was the culmination of 25 years of work. In 1969, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II. [1]

He passed away on August 18, 1983 in London. [1]
