Daniel Peyton, son of Daniel Ashcraft and Nancy Ann (Perry) Peyton, was born about 1827 in Kentucky.[1] He married Frances Cartmell, daughter of David and Nancy Ann (McDonald) Cartmill, on 7 Nov. 1849 at Bath County, Kentucky.[2] He was a farmer when he and Frances appeared on the census of 19 Aug. 1850 at Morgan County, Kentucky.[3] He was a farmer when he and Frances appeared on the census of 2 July 1860 at Morgan County, Kentucky.[4]
Daniel was a private in the Confederate's 34th Battalion Cavalry, Virginia Mounted Rifles in the Civil War. [5]. He died sometime after 1880 in Morgan County, Kentucky.
