Pierre Fanef was born on 23 Mar 1729 and baptized the following day in Saint-Joseph-de-la-Rivière-des-Prairies Catholic Church, Rivière-des-Prairies, Canada, Nouvelle-France. He was the son of Matthias Fanef and of Marie Catherine Charpentier. Godparents at the infant's baptism were Pierre Archambaud and Marie Catherine Fanef. The officiating priest was Saladin.[1][2]

Marriage
Pierre Fanef married Félicité Dumas, daughter of Étienne Dumas and Félicité Chesne, on 25 Oct 1751 in Saint-Joseph-de-la-Riviere-des-Prairies. In the presence of known witnesses Jean Baptiste Joly, Jean Baptiste Charpentier and Michel Cotté. The celebrant priest was Hourde.[3]Félicité passed away on 30 Jun 1752 in Rivière-des-Prairies, Montréal.[4] [5]There was no issue of this marriage.[6]

2nd Marriage
Pierre Phaneuf, aged 25 on the record, widower of Félicité Dumas, married Catherine Blais, aged 20 on the record, daughter of Gabriel Blais and Catherine Lebeau, on 18 Feb 1754 in Pointe-aux-Trembles-de-Montréal. In the presence of known witnesses Claude Phaneuf, François Phaneuf, Joseph Phaneuf, Francois Cadieu, Gabriel Blais, Michel Lafleur, and Toussaint Pepin. The celebrant priests was Pages and Hourde provided a certificate of the publication of the bans, in Pierre's parish.[7]Marie Catherine Blay passed away on 14 Jun 1772 in Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, Province of Québec.[8]

3rd Marriage
Pierre Fanef, aged 42 on the record, widower of Catherine Blay, married Marie Louise Garand, aged 30 on the record, widow of Antoine Lavimodiere, on 11 Jan 1773 in Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, Province of Québec. In the presence of known witnesses Jean Fanef, François Fanef, Paul Fanef, Joseph Garand, Joseph Lavimodiere, and Joseph Garand.[9] There was no issue of this marriage.

Death and Burial
Pierre Faneuf passed away on 31 May 1802 being given the age of around 74 years on the record. His burial was on 2 Jun in Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, Bas-Canada.[10]
