Born on May 3, 1763. Harwinton, Connecticut to Parents: Samuel and Anna (Barber) Phelps. He served as a Pvt in Col Canfield's Mil Regt at West Point, 1781. He married________; Children: Fanny, Ruby, Arza, Lois, Richard, Content, Sabra, Ann Arza. He died on September 7, 1848 and Buried at (Welshfield Center) Troy Cemetery, Plot L 269- G 01, 13500 Main Market Road, Welshfield, Geauga Co., OH 44021. MI : "Ira Phelps 1763-1848 " Removed 'n Elizabethtown N. Y. about 1795, thence to Geauga Co. Name appears in list of census of pensioners in 1840, living in Geauga Co.
