Biography

Rachel was born on July 8, 1760 to Nathaniell Phelps III and Rachel Sawyer in Hebron, Connecticut (then in Hartford County)^[1]. She married Nathan Stickney on 26 Dec 1782 in Orford, Grafton, New Hampshire^[2].

Nathan and Rachel had four children:^[3]

1. Fanny Stickney b. 27 Dec. 1781; m. Francis Peabody
2. Peggy, b. 1 July 1786; m. Asa Ames, 13 Nov. 1802; no children.
3. John Sawyer, b. 15 Sept. 1788; d. unm. 26 Sept. 1811, and
4. Betsey, b. 14 Apr. 1791 ; m. Nicholas Coverly.

Rachel passed away in 1795.
