John was born in 1850. He was the son of Stephen Pherrill and Elizabeth Russell. John was a farmer in Whitby Township, Ontario County. He passed away in 1934. By 1921 he was lodging at 74 Shannon St. in Toronto and was a widower, having lost both his wife & daughter to the Spanish Flu.
John died of a stroke in January 1934. His occupation at the time was listed as real estate agent. Informant at his death was his son, Rev. Charles Pherrill.
