Biography

James Philcox was born on in 1839 in Cheriton, Kent, England, United Kingdom. His parents were William Philcox Phoebe Knowlden. He was christened on 28 April 1839 at their local parish in Cheriton, Kent. [1]

In 1841 he was living with his parents and 3 siblings in Chartham, Kent, England. [2] James worked as a labourer and was living in Plumstead, Woolwich for the 1881 census.

In 1851 he was living with his parents and 7 siblings at their home in Maidstone, Kent, England. He was 11 years old and a scholar. [3]

In 1861 he was 22 years old, working as a moulder and living with his parents and 5 siblings on Watery Lane in Maidstone, Kent. [4]

In 1881 he was 41 years old, single and working as a labourer while living on Arthur Street in Plumstead, London, England. [5]

In Oct 1888 James Philcox died in Woolwich, London, England at the age of 47 years. [6]
