Biography

Walter Carrick Philip was born on 23 Nov 1849[1] in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, United Kingdom, son of George Philip (1799 - 1864) and Barbara (Gordon) Philip (~1807 - 1886). His christening was on 30 Dec 1849 at St. Nicholas, Aberdeen. [2]

His siblings were:

  1. George Gordon Brechin (~1829 - 1912) same mother, different father
  2. Margaret Philip (1840 - 1848)
  3. Isabella Philip (~1845 - )

Each census from 1871 (when Walter was 22) through to 1901 (aged 52) indicates that Walter was a "pauper patient" and "lunatic" at St. Nicholas, Aberdeen. [3][4][5][6]

Walter died about 1920 in Newmachar, Aberdeenshire, Scotland aged ~72.[7]
