Peter was a mariner in Ratcliff in 1638-1641, 1651-1654 and 1679, a mariner in Shadwell in 1638/39, and a mariner in Lower Shadwell in 1663. He was still alive at the time of his wife Elizabeth's death in 1679.

Possibly the Peter Philipps, son of Henry Philipps of Ratcliff, mariner, and Dorothy his wife, baptised at St Dunstan Stepney on 20 Dec 1620 aged 7 days.

Not the Peter Phillipps, mariner of Stepney, whose will was probated on 3 Feb 1697.
