Biography
Edward Stanley was born on Jan 4 1890 in Moonta Mines, South Australia, Australia. His parents were Thomas Phillips and Elizabeth Jane Moyle.[1]
He married Elizabeth Jane Sanders on 8 February 1913. He was 23 years old. She was 28 and a widow of Frederick Sanders killed in a mining accident Their children were a boy Frank Sanders and a girl Edna Sanders. Elizabeth's maiden name Was Gray. Edward and Elizabeth had 4 children. Samuel Roy Phillips, Myra Pears born Phillips, June Steen born Phillips and Betty Day born Phillips. [2]
After or during the birth of Betty, Edward left the family and had another relationship which produced a child. Some think it was a son. His partner may have been called Sherlie . He was according to his children to have been a cruel disciplinarian.[3]
Edward Stanley Phillips died at Elizabeth Downs on 25 November 1965.[4]
