Biography

He was born on 03 Jun 1664 in Rowley, Essex County, Massachusetts and his parents were Sarah (Appleton) and Rev. Samuel Phillips.

He was a graduate of Harvard.

George Phillips married about 1693 in Newtown, Queens County, New York to Sarah Elizabeth Hallett.

On 30 April 1697, he was called by the Congregational churches of Brookhaven, Smithtown and in the Manor of St.George.

He was a charter member and organizer of the Setauket Presbyterian Church in 1717.

He made his last Will on 18 January 1735/6 [1] which mentioned ...

- son William (unmarried)
- sons George and John
- daughters Sarah, Mary and Elizabeth.
- executor: wife, Sarah
- overseers: Henry Smith, Esq. and Deacon Woodhul, Esq. [1]
- witnesses: William Smith, Henry Smith, Jr., Gloriana Smith.

He died on 03 Apr 1739 in Setauket, Brookhaven, Suffolk County, New York [2] and his Will was proved on 05 May 1741. [1] [3]
