Biography

Claire was born in 1893. She passed away in 1981. She was briefly engaged before marrying Edward Nelson Jesup Jesup-19. She was a debutante in the Baltimore suburbs. Her father conceived her when he briefly returned from England, where he had fled from creditors in the US. She was a hunter and fisherwoman, spending time in their cabin in Tahawus, NY (at the Adirondack Club, now renamed the Tahawus Club). She shot moose in Canada, deer in the Adirondacks, and fowl. After the death of her husband, she bought, rehabbed, and sold houses (what's now called "house flipping"). She frequently took cruises in different parts of the world.
