Biography

Allen was born on March 25, 1875 at Huntsville in Scott County, Tennessee. He was the son of Abner Phillips and Mary Fine ( McDonald ) Phillips . He married Martha Sexton on January 1, 1899 at Huntsville in Scott County. Allen worked as a farmer and passed away from uremia due to cystitis due to prostatitis on October 8, 1950 at his home in Huntsville, Scott County, Tennessee.

Obituary,

Allen Phillips of Huntsville died at his home October 8th. Mr. Phillips was 75 years old and a life long resident of Scott county. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha P. Phillips, sons Elbert, Herbert, Ubert, Egbert and Robert, step children, Allen, Carlie, Patsy and Betty all of Scott county, Brothers Emer, Carlie, Sherman and one sister Luverna. Services were held from the home Oct. 9th at 9:00 o?clock with Rev. Maynard Jeffers officiating. Interment in Vanderpool cemetery, Huntsville with Rector-Hollingsworth in charge.
