James died on 20 October 2001 at age 78. The location of his death is presumed to be North Carolina as that is where his obituary was printed and he is buried in Salisbury National Cemetery Annex, Salisbury, North Carolina.[3]
Research Notes
In 1942, James said that Beatrice Hogsed would always know his address. A marriage record was found for Beatrice Phillips marrying Wade Hogsed. Beatrice is possibly James' older sister as identified in his 1930 Census enumeration.
