Her maiden name and parents are documented on her second marriage record-- she was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, daughter of John Phillips and Marcella Carter.

She married first in Virginia John Carter and had Marie in 1895.

By 1899, the family moved to Ohio where two additional daughters were born in 1899 and 1900.

We find them living in Cleveland, Ohio in the 1900 census. Marie's mother is enumerated as Lucy, born June 1877 Virginia; her father John was born Oct 1874 Virginia. Marie's parents were married in Virginia the year Marie was born. ^[1]

Lulu married second Thurman Wyant 3 Nov 1903. [check] in Cuyahoga Co., Ohio.^[2]
