Emma had been married to Benjamin Lewis Bailey prior to her marriage to William Richard Hodges. I did not locate a divorce certificate for the Bailey / Phillips marriage, nor did I locate any documents to indicate that she remarried Mr. Bailey after her divorce from William Richard Hodges. However, after the divorce from W.R. Hodges, she reverted to using the last name of Bailey. On census records after the divorce she was listed as married, divorced and widowed but she was listed as married on her death certificate and using the Bailey surname.
