Philips, Georgianna - Jackson, Walter W. - 19 Jul 1866[3]
Her husband was born about 1846 in Amite County - William W. Jackson is listed in the household of Moses and Susanna A. Jackson in the 1850 census for Amite County. He was 4; also listed are Franklin J. Jackson (3) and Charles Jackson (5/12).[4]
They remained in Amite County, where they raised their family.
Anna A. Jackson, daughter (9), born in Mississippi
Charles H. Jackson, son (7), born in Mississippi
Robert A. Jackson, son (5), born in Mississippi
Edgar Jackson, son (4), born in Mississippi
May A. Jackson, daughter (1), born in Mississippi
Their son Willie Wingate Jackson, who had married Mary Lou Page (born 1870) in 1894, died in Wilkinson County, Mississippi in September 1937. Mary Lou had died in Texas that July.[7]
Their son "E.A. Jackson" died in Fort Worth, Texas, age 39, on 24 April 1916.[8]
Their son Charles Horatio Jackson, born 23 November 1873, died a widower in San Antonio, Texas on 21 April 1951.[9]
Research Notes
The 1880 census, which includes birth location of parents, had "Unknown" for both of her parents - it also had that she was born in Mississippi (which we know is wrong).[6]
FindAGrave memorials for her husband's family exclude her as his first wife and him as son of Moses. DAR records do not.
DAR: On 19 July 1866, Georgianna Phillips married William Walter Jackson (born 1846 in Amite County). She died in 1884, in Amite County.[7]
The "William Walter Jackson" in the DAR records descends from DAR Patriot Ancestor Isaac Jackson through his son Wiley (c1780-1842) and grandson Moses (1822-1895).[7]
FindAGrave memorials show a son of Moses born 1846, but it is not William Walter Jackson:
Find A Grave: Memorial #37954655 for Franklin J. Jackson (tombstone image has just "Frank")
FindAGrave also has a memorial for William Walter Jackson, born 1846, but his wife is not Georgianna (although the memorial for the wife has her birth in 1861, so she could easily be the second wife):
It is of interest that the Gallents are next door to the Jacksons in the 1850 census.[4]
The 1910 Census shows Isadore (48) as wife of "Walter WS" Jackson (63), in Amite County (with children aged 16, 14, and 12).[10]
