Patience Elizabeth (Phillips) Povey was born about 1862 in Hayes, Middlesex, England, United Kingdom to parents Thomas Phillips and Maria (LNAB unknown possibly Martin).
In the 1871 census Patience (age 9) was the daughter of Thomas Phillips in Riverhead, Sevenoaks, Kent, England.[1]
In the 1881 census Patience (age 19) was a servant of Cornelius Cox in Leighton Crest, St Pancras, London, Middlesex, England.[2]
Patience married William Thomas Povey (1859 - ) on 29 Aug 1886 in Woolwich, Greenwich, London, England.[3] Their children were:

- Emma Maria Povey (~1889 - 1913)
- Bessie Povey (1894 - ~1970)
