Thomas Barton Philpott married Mrs. Margaret Rowe Ann (Kimery) McFarlin, the widow of Lawrence Nelson McFarlin, on 25 October 1868 at Bedford County, Tennessee. They had ten children. Thomas Barton Philpott then married a second time, to Laura Belle Haynes, on 14 February 1900, at Bedford County. Together, they were the parents of six children.[2]
Thomas Barton Philpott died 5 September 1917 at Bedford County, Tennessee. He was buried in New Hope Cemetery, at Shelbyville, Bedford County.[1]
