George was born in 1729 in Hook Norton, Oxfordshire, England, and was baptised on 4 January 1729 in Hook Norton, Oxfordshire.[1]
He was the son of George Phipps and Mary Claridge.
George Phipps, bachelor, and Hannah Constable, both of the parish of Hook Norton, were married by licence at Hook Norton parish church on 13 September 1760.
The witnesses were called Anthony Barratt and George Phipps.
