Biography

When John Jefferson Phipps was born on January 1, 1814, in Middleton, Tennessee, his father, John, was 44 and his mother, Mary, was 44. He married Mary Ann Traylor on May 27, 1841. They had one child during their marriage. He died on September 1, 1896, in Grimes, Texas, having lived a long life of 82 years, and was buried in Oak Level, Alabama.
