A series of land transactions in Coventry link Ruth to her father and husband:
13 April 1631: Margery Barrowes of Coventry, widow, sells to Francis Phipps (of Coventry, gentleman) two Little Park Street messuages occupied by Margery, John Tatam and Katherine Tresham (widow).[2]
27 July 1633: Demise by Francis Phippes of Coventry, gentleman, to his daughter Ruth of the two Little Park Street messuages, lately occupied by Margery Barrowes et al, for one thousand years at a peppercorn rent.[3]
22 Sep 1638: Sale by Amillyon Holbech of Coventry, yeoman, and his wife Ruth, daughter of Francis Phippes of Coventry, gentleman, deceased, of the two messuages on the western side of Little Park Street which Francis Phippes bought from Margery Barrowes, to Stephen Darker and his wife Joyce for £65.[4]
23 Nov 1649: Grant for 12d. by Robert Phippes of Coventry, esq. to Stephen Darker and his wife Joyce of the messuages sold by Amillyon and Ruth Holbech in 1638.[5]
