Robert Phipps was born around 1819 in North Carolina[1] to William Phipps and Nancy Griffith.
On January 8, 1853, Robert married Sarah Edwards in Surrey County, North Carolina.[2]
According to the 1870 census, Robert lived with Sarah and their children, Francis and Troy and Robert's child from a prior marriages, Ahart in Ashe County, North Carolina.[1]
I can't find a record for Robert after the 1870 census. Sarah is listed as a widow in the 1880 census.[3]
