William Ray Piatt was a WWI veteran and Union Organizer. He fought hard for workers rights in the Railway industry and suffered a broken back by the clubs of local police for organizing a local union meeting. No longer able to perform physical railway labor tasks, he continued to march and organize the union on behalf of his brothers and sisters laboring on the railroads of America.
