Biography

Alice Pickard, 90, passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 7, 2016. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Burns) Pickard. Alice had lived most of her life in Pawtucket before moving to Smithfield ten years ago. She had spent her summers in Pettaquamscutt Lake Shores, Narragansett. Alice was a ticket agent for American Airlines for many years before retiring. She is survived by her nephews, Steven, Jay, Michael, and Matthew Bessette, her nieces, Mary Beth Houle, Alyson Adalio, Jayne Hosney, and Karen Falvey. She also leaves 21 grandnieces and grandnephews. She was the sister of the late Maureen Bessette. The funeral will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 9am from the O’Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Saint John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial will be in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours Tuesday from 9-10:30am in the funeral home, prior to the Mass.
