PICKERING-Richard Melvin Pickering, 66, born July 18, 1938 in Whittier, CA and passed away March 17, 2005 in his home in La Habra, CA. Richard, a member of a pioneering Whittier family. He attended Whittier schools before graduating from the University of California with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1962. Richard was employed locally as a pharmacist until a medical condition caused him to give up that line of work. Subsequently, he worked for 25 years in the home office of Quaker City Bank (now Banco Popular). Survived by wife, Carolyn A. Pickering, father Seth Pickering, daughters Janet T hompson, Karen Sheffler and Sally Bondy; son Tom Pickering, step-sons Brian Buckley and Chris Buckley, 13 grandchildren, brothers Jack Pickering and Vic Pickering and sister Susan Hall. Services Directed by Rose Hills Mortuary on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. Rainbow Chapel, Gate #17. 3888 S. Workman Mill Rd. Whittier. Interment at Rose Hills Memorial Park.
