• 1820 census, two Mason households are indexed: Mason and Peter. Lucy's first son's middle name was Mason... perhaps this is her father or uncle? Other sources indicate that a Mason Picket died at the age of 34 in 1822... Yet, the Andrews books says that Lucy and Samuel were married "at her father's farm" in Bethel. So... maybe NOT Mason...
