Biography

Eliza was born in 1832. (Prince Edward Island, Canada, Baptisms, Marriages, Burials, 1780-1983) She passed away in 1895. (Summerside Journal Jun 27, 1894)

Married Joseph Barwise in 1866.[1][2]

Eliza died in Wilmot Valley in 1895.[3]

Joseph Barwise and Eliza A. PICKETTS, had two children, Joseph Peter and his sister Jessie Maud. When Eliza died, leaving Joseph with a 12 year old daughter, he remarried, which was a well-accepted practice at the time. However, much to the chagrin of his oldest son Joseph Peter, he married a woman two or three years younger than he (Joseph Peter). This caused a huge rift in the family. Joseph Peter refused to even speak of the half-brothers William and Frederick Joseph, let alone speak to them. (ref. Jason Barwise)

Pickett-1824 and Picketts-6 appear to represent the same person because: The name of the family in Wilmot Valley is Picketts. My parents lived in Wilmot Valley for many years. See also the history of Wilmot Valley, a Bridge to the Past.
